ManTrak 2016 eblast sidebar 200wJoin us on Saturday 19th March 2016 for a sponsored walk along the Tarka Trail. We are delighted to announce that Neil Back, the Rugby World Cup-winning England legend, will be our special celebrity guest at ManTrak 2016. You will get to meet Neil (who will be bringing along his World Cup winners' medal) at Barnstaple and Bideford rugby clubs and hear tales from his glittering career with Leicester, England and The Lions.

Depending on the route you choose, you'll finish your walk at either Barnstaple or Bideford Rugby Club, to watch the culmination of the 2016 Six Nations Championship, with Ireland v Scotland and France vs England played out on big screens.

You'll also get a free pasty, free cuppa and a free pint to complete this ultimate boys' day out!

There is, of course, a serious side to ManTrak. The sponsorship you raise (or any donation you make to take part), will help North Devon Hospice care for local people.

These are people on your doorstep, in your own community, who are currently facing the impact of cancer or other life-limiting illnesses. We care for those who need us, and it may be your family, friends, neighbours or colleagues. But as a local charity, we can only do this thanks to your support.

So, please, sign up to ManTrak today and enjoy an unforgettable day out, whilst raising much-needed funds for your local hospice.

Pasty image for web On the Tarka Trail routes, you will be treated to a free cuppa and a free delicious hot pasty, courtesy of Blackwells of Bideford. There will be live musical entertainment provided at Fremington Quay.
Pint image for web Having walked all those miles, you'll be welcomed at the finish line with a well-earned free pint (courtesy of St Austell Brewery). Your free pint can be claimed at your finishing point, so you can sup up before enjoying the game (a soft option will also be available should you so wish).
Rugby image for web At both rugby clubs, you can enjoy the culmination of the Six Nations Championship, with the final two games (Ireland v Scotland and France v England) being shown on a number of big screens. Enjoy the big game atmosphere with hundreds of fellow Man Trakkers plus our special celebrity guest who is pure rugby royalty. The bars will be open throughout the day, and hot food will also be available to purchase, so you can make a day of it!
Neil Back legend image for web Neil Back was part of the famed Hill-Back-Dallaglio back-row trio which won the Rugby World Cup in 2003. Neil also captained his country and had a distinguished club career in the brutal environment of Leicester Tigers, as well as going on 3 Lions tours. A true legend of the game! Neil will be present at both clubhouses on the day, to meet walkers, take photos and share tales of his career at the top.
Small Print image for web All walkers must be 16 years or over. Please choose your route (11-mile or 7-mile) carefully, as it could be a cold Spring day and we want to make sure you complete the walk comfortably. ManTrak is a sponsored walk in aid of North Devon Hospice and we would love each walker to raise as much as possible (or make a donation towards the cause). There are many ways in which you can raise funds, including putting on your own small fundraising event to raise money (such as a quiz in your local), or you might fancy getting a company team together and raising funds (perhaps with the backing of your employer). When you register, we'll send you lots of fundraising tips and ideas to make it easier. By signing up to ManTrak, you are also confirming that you are fit and healthy enough to take part in the event and have no medical conditions that prevent your participation. If you have any questions, please call Gerard Fawcitt on 01271 347224 or email

Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving fundraising pages can be created here. This is by far the easiest way to raise sponsorship for your ManTrak walk. Simply create a page on one of these sites, then share the page on facebook, twitter and email. Your friends, family and colleagues can then easily sponsor you, and the money comes straight to North Devon Hospice.
