AONB Marathon Runners!

The North Devon AONB Marathon is a demanding yet beautiful course. With Woolacombe bay as the centre-point, runners follow a figure-of-eight around some stunning coastal scenery and inland treats. The steep inclines and mixture of terrain is enough to test any experienced runner. Not only did our 2011 runners embrace this challenging course, they also faced scorching temperatures reaching 28 degrees!
This year places sold out in record time, with popularity for this endurance run welcoming people from counties far and wide, and of course, welcoming back those from the community who took part in 2010. We'd like to thank everyone who took part and for making this a fantastic day.
And last, but definitely not least, we have the vision of the dedicated marathon runner and now marathon organiser, Simon Oliver to thank! Simon is the inspiration and dedication behind this popular and challenging event, making it possible for us all to get together in the most beautiful setting and raise funds to help care and support patients, families and carers who are suffering from the impact of life threatening illness.
