Volunteer with us

North Devon Hospice simply could not exist without our dedicated team of volunteers. They are of all ages and backgrounds and help out in a huge variety of ways. Most people find volunteering a very rewarding and enjoyable experience.

Fundraising Volunteers

Volunteering your time to help with fundraising is a really fun and sociable way of helping your hospice. There are numerous ways you can get involved. You can help out in one of our 11 shops, help out at one of our fundraising events, become a member of a support group, become a lottery collector or help to organise your own event.

You can give as much or as little time as you want and you can pick and choose what tasks you want to take on - it really is up to you! If you think you can be a fundraising volunteer for North Devon Hospice please contact Ali, Emma, or Gerard in the fundraising office for an informal chat. We'd love to hear from you.

Care Volunteers

The hospice's professional care team of doctors, nurses and therapists is supported by an extensive team of care volunteers.

Care volunteers help with everything. They drive patients to the hospice, they help patients at the hospice, both physically and by listening and giving encouragement and they also help out in our brand new kitchen. Some volunteers help by sitting with patients in their own homes to give respite to their carers or even walking their dogs for them!

All care volunteers undergo training in whatever aspect of care they wish to be involved in. There are a huge number of ways in which you can become involved as a care volunteer. For an informal chat to find out what it's all about, please contact Barbara Andrew. We would love to hear from you.
