Barnstaple Furniture Centre Assistant Manager/Driver

Full Time: 37.5 hours a week to be worked flexibly over 5 days. Monday to Sunday, between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm

The North Devon Hospice Furniture Centre is one of twelve North Devon Hospice retail outlets across the region; these outlets play an important role in raising funds to support the essential care we provide to the local community and contributed in excess of £1m income last year.  A vacancy has arisen for a full-time Furniture Centre Assistant Manager/Driver to join our friendly team which will be based in our new location at the Two Rivers Industrial Estate, Barnstaple. 

The role of the Furniture Centre Assistant Manager/Driver is to provide support to the Furniture Centre Manager and provide cover in their absence.  The post holder will be responsible for running the Furniture Centre, managing a small team of volunteers, delivering on income targets and positively promoting awareness of the hospice.

The role also involves driving a 3.5 tonne van and moving large quantities of furniture and other donated stock. A full driving licence with Category C1 and a good level of physical fitness are essential.

This post is subject to a standard level check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The role requires an individual with exceptional communication and people skills.  Supervisory experience in a retail environment is essential.
