We want to provide outstanding care and support to everyone in North Devon who is impacted by a life limiting illness and together we can make this happen. Everyone is a story and the ending matters.
Our patients are at the heart of every single thing we do. As a £6m local charity, we have over 150 paid staff and over 300 volunteers who all work passionately and tirelessly to contribute to every facet of North Devon Hospice life. It is thanks to our staff and volunteers that the care we provide is so special.
As our Treasurer you will work closely with the Board of Trustees, CEO and Director of Finance to ensure the financial governance of the hospice, including compliance with its Articles of Association, financial policies, charity law, company law and other relevant legislation or regulations. You will provide a strategic financial overview to the Board, keep the Board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities and chair the Finance and HR Committee.
We are looking for someone who has:-
- A financial management qualification
- Experience of charity and/or company finance
- Skills to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences
- Commitment to the vision and objectives of the hospice
- Strategic vision, tact and diplomacy and excellent interpersonal skills.
The time commitment is 1 Board meeting a quarter (2.5 hours), 1 Finance & HR Committee a quarter (2.5 hours) Trustee working group twice a year, ad hoc advice and guidance.
