Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) to be worked Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm (with half an hour unpaid lunch break each day)
We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, forward thinking first level registered nurse to join our team of Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialists on a full-time basis. You will work as part of our team based at and working within Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. However, as part of the wider hospice team you will have access to the peer support of your colleagues in the community specialist palliative care team and the multidisciplinary team at the hospice. You will need to have significant post registration experience as a nurse, but be ready for a new challenge at a more senior level. You are motivated and have the ability to work as part of a small but busy team. You will have the skills to work autonomously, but also be collaborative in your approach to supporting colleagues on the ward to deliver high quality specialist palliative care. Taking an innovative approach to education and teaching will be a core part of your role. Your ability to communicate with a broad range of professional colleagues is essential. You are already a registered independent prescriber, but if not we will support you to develop this essential skill so you can register this with the NMC. For candidates who are less experienced in specialist palliative care, there will be a tailored induction programme to support their needs.
This post is subject to an Enhanced level check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
If you are interested in working in this very rewarding area of healthcare we would love to hear from you. Informal discussion welcomed, please contact Lin Walkey, Community Palliative Care Team Lead on 01271 344 248.
