Garden Volunteer at the Long House, Holsworthy

The care and support provided at The Long House is for local people facing the impact of cancer or other life-limiting illnesses. The centre is a haven for both patients and families, helping them cope during the toughest of times.  Over 100 sessions are provided every month including one-to-one counselling, group support, complementary therapies, pamper days, creative sessions and much more.

Right now we are recruiting garden volunteers to assist Neal, our caretaker, at The Long House in Holsworthy.

Volunteers are vital in assisting us to deliver outstanding care, and no matter what role our volunteers undertake, they can be sure in the knowledge they truly are making a difference.

Neal is seeking support to assist with keeping the grass cut, weeding the beds and general garden maintenance and we would love to hear from you if you are a keen gardener or someone who enjoys cutting the grass on a beautiful sunny morning!  Or perhaps you are a member of a local gardening group who meet regularly and have a couple of hours to spare from your own gardens to get together at The Long House to indulge in your passion whilst making a difference to your local community.

Please see the role description below for more information, which gives you a good understanding of the type of work required and the times and days available.

Please contact Sue in the Volunteer Office on 01271 347226 if you are interested in this role or you would like to find out about any of our others volunteering opportunities we may have.
