Patient Transport Volunteer

Do you enjoy driving and meeting new people? If your answer is yes, have you thought about combining these two and becoming a Patient Transport volunteer with North Devon Hospice?

This role plays a vital part in the care and support we offer our patients and their families and we are looking to expand our transport team.

Our Patient Transport volunteers provide transport to patients and/or family members in order for them to access life changing services the hospice provides at either Deer Park, Barnstaple or at the Long House, our outreach centre in Holsworthy and will occasionally be asked to drive patients to other support appointments within the region.

This is so much more than a car journey - it gives patients the chance to get out of their houses and feel in touch with their local community.

This role will require an enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Baring Service) and an annual declaration of your fitness to drive and you will only be asked to drive within the normal working week (Mon-Fri).

Full training and support is offered to all our volunteers and we are as flexible as possible so you can slot your volunteering hours around your personal commitments.

If you feel this role might be something you would be interested in, please do get in touch with Sue in the Volunteering Office for further details or complete the application form, equality monitoring form and the Declaration of a Criminal Record form below and return to the Volunteering Office.

Make time, make friends and make a difference.
