Supportive Care Team Lead

Salary: Hospice Pay point 21 £40,500

We want to provide outstanding care and support to everyone in North Devon who is impacted by a life limiting illness and together we can make this happen.  Everyone is a story and the ending matters.  We are proud to support and care for patients and their families at their most vulnerable time.  We want to make it possible for more people, who wish to stay at home, to be cared for in familiar surrounds and with friends and family around them.

Our Supportive Care Team delivers a range of therapeutic interventions to patients and family members pre and post bereavement. The team includes counsellors, a complementary therapy coordinator, integrated administrative support and a committed team of therapy and bereavement volunteers. The team take a proactive approach to their service offer making sure it is always person-centred and reflective of needs. The support our team provides is open to patients, their family and friends and children.

With the retirement of our existing service lead, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our team and deliver our vision for the future. Based in our beautiful hospice in North Devon, you will lead the development of our existing service to ensure it remains flexible to demand and need in our growing population. Our services are delivered at our main hospice in Barnstaple, at our outreach centre in Holsworthy and across the geography of North Devon. As a member of the hospice Leadership Team you will work with your peers across all hospice disciplines to deliver our strategy and realise our vision to be there for everyone in North Devon who needs us.

You will have a background in health and social care and/or therapeutic counselling with a current, relevant professional registration. You will have leadership skills and experience of working in a dynamic multiprofessional team. Experience of hospice or work with life limiting illness would be beneficial. You will have a deep understanding of the impact of loss and grief on the individual and those close to them. As a leader and role model you will be an expert resource for your team and the wider hospice clinical service.

In addition to being part of a team of dedicated professionals who demonstrate excellence every day, the benefits of working for North Devon Hospice include:

  • An excellent working environment & beautiful outside areas
