We are looking for additional support at our Joy Street, Barnstaple Hospice shop to process sales and take payments using our electronic till system. Attention to detail is essential and, although you do not require any previous experience as full training will be given prior to commencing your role, an interest in customer service would be desired. You will be provided with all the necessary PPE and you will be joining a friendly and supportive team. The many benefits of volunteering include meeting new people, learning new skills or utilising your existing skills, and becoming part of our fantastic retail team whilst knowing you are helping local people in your community.
Our retail volunteers provide vital support for our shop managers, helping to raise much needed funds, which is as important now as it’s ever been, so the Hospice can continue to offer outstanding care & support to patients with life limited illnesses and their loved ones. Our retail volunteers provide an invaluable service that we couldn't be without!
You don’t need any previous experience to volunteer with us, we will provide free training for you to fulfil your role, all we ask is a willingness to work as part of a team. This role can be quite flexible with the shifts if you prefer variety, or you can choose to fill one of the vacant shifts if you prefer continuity. We do rely on our volunteers to keep our shops open so reliability is key along with a good sense of humour and bundles of enthusiasm. Reasonable travel expense can be reimbursed, once agreed with the shop manager, in advance.
Make time, make friends and make a difference.
