Living in Devon, who doesn’t love a cream tea? The soft scone that splits open so easily in your hands, spread with a thick layer of indulgent Rodda's clotted cream and topped with a generous helping of your favourite Tiptree jam. Pair that with your favourite cuppa (or a glass of bubbles) on a glorious summer’s day, what could be more perfect?

We want you join us for Queen Tea celebrations on the June bank holiday with anyone you can share it with.

Enjoy an indulgent afternoon tea with friends in your garden or neighbours on your street, or how about giving someone you can’t visit a call and sharing a cream tea apart, together. Cream teas are the perfect way to reconnect with friends and loved ones, and doing it for the hospice means you are helping keep families together when facing a life-limiting illness.

People facing an incurable illness, or facing the loss of someone they love, are confronting some of the toughest times of their lives. It's a time when they need their family and friends the most, but that's not possible right now, at least not in the same way. The care of the hospice therefore becomes even more vital during these times.

The demand for North Devon Hospice's care has understandably gone up in the past couple years, but for some time all our fundraising events had to be cancelled and our charity shops were closed.

This is why your support is so desperately needed.

This handy guide will give useful tips on how to arrange a cream tea party, bake scrumptious scones with a recipe straight from the Hospice kitchen, and maximise your fundraising, plus help get you started with decorations.

You can hold your Queen Tea on any day over the Jubilee weekend (June 2nd - 5th), but whenever you decide to hold it we'd love to hear about it. Make sure to tag North Devon Hospice in your photos on social media, or get in touch on fundraising@northdevonhospice.org.uk.

Need some more resources for your pack? Get in touch! Whether it's bunting or flags or posters, let us know what you need at fundraising@northdevonhospice.org.uk and we can help you.

When you've decided to join us for a Queen Tea, raising funds will be easy. People will want to join you for a scrummy tea and chat, and donate to your party. You will inspire others to support the cause, because frontline hospice care is vital right now.

Your JustGiving page can be set up here. It only takes just a couple of minutes, then you can share the link with your friends and followers on social media.

Keep sharing the link until you've reached your target. It could be you ask your social media followers to donate the cost of a cream tea to your page, or they set up their own Queen Tea party! Ask people to sponsor your bake-a-thon or ask neighbours if they would give a donation in exchange for a cream tea delivery.

If you need help setting up your page or with reaching your total, we're here to help you! Get in touch at fundraising@northdevonhospice.org.uk, we'd love to hear from you.
