Thank you for choosing to join us for Mission:Unbreakable 2019, in aid of North Devon Hospice. You have committed to a genuinely tough challenge and we thank you for your support. You are about to become an ‘Unbreakable!’

Mission Briefing:

Sunday 13th October 2019

North Molton Sports Club (EX36 3HG)

Route Length:

Suggested minimum sponsorship:

We will keep in contact with you via email between now and the event. You will receive your final information and start times by Saturday 5th October. Below are some details you need to know in the run-up to your mission…

The course

This will be a test of mind and body as you battle through mud, water, fire, ice and our demanding obstacles. We’ve had great fun with the soldiers from 24 Commando Engineer Regiment, from RMB Chivenor, setting up the course. It is tough, but also a huge amount of fun. All obstacles are optional, so no one will force you into anything... However, this is a day for stepping up and pushing yourself to the limit. You can find more details about the obstacles at

There will be plenty of volunteers there on the day, as well as the soldiers from 24 Commando Engineer Regiment, encouraging you and making sure you complete the course safely. This is not a race, so the other Unbreakables taking part will also lend each other a helping hand. In fact, you will need to work in teams to complete some of the obstacles.

You’ve committed to the first step of Mission:Unbreakable, now it’s time to take up the challenge of raising as much money as possible for North Devon Hospice.

Mission:Unbreakable 2019 is a vitally important fundraising event for the hospice. Your registration fee just goes towards the cost of staging such a large scale event. It is your sponsorship and fundraising that will go towards the care that the hospice provides. Our aim is to raise £80,000 to fund two nurses on our bedded unit, where care is provided around the clock to those with the most severe symptoms. We care for those facing cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, but we can only do this with your help.

We set the challenge for everyone to raise a minimum of £50.00 which, given the scale of the challenge you are undertaking, should be easily achievable. During registration you told us how you would like to raise funds, and so in the coming weeks you will receive detailed information via email on your method of choice. For now though, so that you can get started right away, we have included information and tips below on the 4 key ways to raise funds.

We also have a document full of top tips for fundraising success, no matter how you want to raise funds, which you can read here. It's full of helpful hints and will make reaching your £50 target a doddle.

Raising Sponsorship - Digital fundraising page

These days it couldn't be easier to raise sponsorship, thanks to online fundraising platforms, such as Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving. Setting up your sponsorship page is quick and simple, then with a click of a button you can share your page with all of your friends as well as community groups on social media such as Facebook. This means geographical limitations to your fundraising are a thing of the past, your friends on the other side of the world can donate!

Use the button below to create your sponsorship page, just remember to choose North Devon Hospice as your chosen charity. The money comes direct to us, so no faffing around chasing people!

Raising Sponsorship - Paper sponsor form

Some people like technology, some not so much. We get it. If you prefer good old fashion paper, then this is the option for you. Use the button below to download and print your sponsorship form. If you don't have access to a printer, then let us know and we can post you one instead.

Then, simply pass this around your friends, family and colleagues. You'll hit your target in no time! Nothing beats asking someone to sponsor you face-to-face, they will want to say yes and help you support the hospice.

Do a fundraising event/activity

If you're not one for raising sponsorship, then another great option is to host a fundraising event. From cake sales to car washes there are many different events and fundraisers you can do. Why note take a look at our A-Z of fundraising ideas and also our fundraising tips, which is full of fundraising activity ideas.

If you don't like the idea of holding an event, you could do car boot sale, or sell slices of homemade cake to colleagues - the options are endless!

Once you've picked a fundraising activity do let us know, by phone or email, as we may well be able to help in some way.

Make a donation

You might prefer to simply make a donation, instead of raising sponsorship or holding a fundraising event, which you are more than welcome to do. Please use the button below to visit our donation page, and be sure to tell us that this donation is related to Mission:Unbreakable on the form.

Start training

We thoroughly recommend you create yourself a training program to prepare for the event. The sooner you can start, the better. Bear in mind the course is 10km long (6.2 miles) and involves inclines, bogs, marshes and water, not to mention the challenging obstacles all the way round, and so we advise you to take the physical demand seriously.

If you're taking part as a team or group, why not start training together? There is definitely strength in numbers when it comes to committing to a training program, and even a gradually increasing distance running program will make a massive difference to your fitness on the day.

On the day

Mission:Unbreakable takes place across 10km of rugged Devon countryside. The start and finish point for the day will be North Molton Sports Ground (postcode EX36 3HG). Plenty of parking is available on site, and there will be showers and free hot refreshments available at the finish (as well a food and drink for your spectators to purchase as well). If you have ordered an event t-shirt, you will be able to collect this on the day.

We will be emailing you your specific arrival time and other final info during the first week of October. This is because that's when registrations close, so we cannot allocate start times until then. Your start time will be somewhere between 9.30am and 12.00pm.

Please remember to send your team names to (before 30th September) so we can ensure you all receive the same start time. Please note, we cannot accommodate specific start times, our priority will be to ensure you run with your team mates.

Any questions

If there is anything that you need to know about the event, or if you would like any help with your fundraising efforts in the lead-up to the big day, please don’t hesitate to contact the team using the details below.
