Helping children love and learn about art with Tiggy (a.k.a. Christa from our Supportive Care team!)
Christa, from our Supportive Care team, has been creating videos to send to her grandchildren, during times when they are apart. They affectionately call her 'Tiggy', and so these videos have come to be known as 'Tiggy Time'.
The videos explore different artworks and the stories behind them, making the subject fascinating for young minds. These videos are shared with you all to enjoy, as art and creativity play a big part in the Supportive Care provided by the hospice to young people. There is also a worksheet to go with each video, which gives your children activities to do, based on the painting that is being explored.
The videos will change regularly, so please check back here to discover more interesting subjects to share with your children.
This particular video explores how a rare mineral was used to create the most spectacular blue colouring, which can be seen in Vermeer's famous painting of The Milkmaid. Enjoy learning more with your children!
Download the worksheet to go with this video, for your children to enjoy.
