Community Palliative Care Service Deputy Team Lead

Community Palliative Care Deputy Team Lead:  Pay Point 22: £45,500 per annum. 37.5 Hours per week, divided between clinical hours and management time (Approx. 2 ½ days each) Monday-Friday 830am -5pm.

About the Role:

Are you an expert clinician looking for a new challenge? Do you want to develop your leadership skills and make a real difference to the care of people at end of life within their own homes? Do you want to share your knowledge and skills to support others to develop their expertise? An opportunity has arisen for you to join our Community Palliative Care Team as Deputy Team Lead. Working along side the Community Team Lead you will support the Clinical Nurse Specialists, Registered Nurses, and Multi-Skilled Health Care Assistants to support patients, and their families, who wish to be cared for and die at home. The role will combine the dual responsibility of carrying a small caseload alongside specific leadership duties. 

To succeed in this role, you will have: 

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Post registration qualification at a degree level in a palliative care or a related area of clinical practice.
  • Leadership experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Significant post registration experience in end-of-life care, palliative care or a related field
  • Experience of working in the community setting
  • Excellent knowledge of symptom control
  • Excellent Communication skills and interpersonal skills
