We will be opening our gardens and Children's Trail for the public to enjoy on Saturday 1st June, giving you the chance to see for yourself why these stunning grounds are such a special place for patients and families.

The gardens and Children’s Trail will be free to enter and there will a selection of interactive children's activities running throughout the day, plant sale and live Q&A with the hospice’s Head Gardener, Ian Smith. A delicious BBQ will be available from the hospice’s Terrace Café to enjoy throughout the day.

We’re proud to have created a serene environment for our patients and families, where they can go to enjoy a moment of calm or reconnect with nature. It’s an absolute pleasure to be able to share this with our wonderful North Devon community and invite you all to come and explore our gorgeous gardens free of charge. The addition of our brand-new Children’s Trail, which includes a whole host of fun outdoor activities, will make this an even more exciting day out for all the family. The paths around our gardens are wide, smooth, and wheelchair-friendly, so people of all abilities will be able to explore with ease and enjoyment.

The gardens include herbaceous borders, two large ponds, a rose garden, a cherry orchard, a kitchen garden, and the newest addition – a stunning glass greenhouse, housing several plants, fruits, and vegetables. The produce grown at the hospice is used by the Catering Team to make many of the items on the Terrace Café menu. Our Kitchen Team are putting on a mouth-watering BBQ and refreshments for all to enjoy, hopefully in the sunshine!

Admission to the North Devon Hospice Open Gardens and Children’s Trail is completely free and well-behaved dogs on a lead are also welcome. It will be open from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 1st June, with onsite parking available. To find out more, call 01271 344248.
