Your role: Online trading volunteer

How much time is needed to volunteer? 

As much as you want! I volunteer for 2 hours a week in between college work and hobbies but if there are weeks where im busier than others the hospice are flexible

What does your role involve? 

I do research on items that are donated and list them on Ebay or Music Magpie. Sometimes I’ll do a little bit of packaging.

What inspired you to become a volunteer? 

My mum works at the hospice as a medical officer and seeing the work she does made me keen to be involved as well.

Why would you encourage others to become a volunteer? 

Working with everyone there is always fun and the experience is really rewarding

What is the best part of volunteering? 

Seeing everyone on the Hospice team

What has been your most rewarding experience being a volunteer? 

Seeing an item be sold after spending time researching it

What have you learned since becoming a volunteer? 

How to research items on ebay and list them and working as a team

What is your background? 

I’ve lived in North Devon my whole life with my mum, dad and older sister

What might someone be surprised to know about you? 

I can play guitar

What is your favourite food? 

Anything with hummus!

Misery by Stephen King

Bounty chocolate bars
