Barnstaple Furniture Shop Volunteer Driver's Mate

Are you ready to make a difference in your community while exploring the beautiful countryside of North Devon? Our busy furniture centre in Barnstaple is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to join our team as a Driver’s Mate.

You’ll be:
• Supporting our drivers with furniture collections and deliveries across North Devon (frequent & heavy lifting involved)
• Helping to keep stock moving efficiently
• Meeting new people and being a friendly face of the hospice
• Enjoying a varied workload, uncovering gems in the homes of North Devon and learning some of the unique stories behind them
• Working alongside a fun, friendly crew of hospice drivers!

What we’re looking for:
• A friendly, can-do attitude and a willingness to get stuck in
• Good communication skills and a love for meeting new people
• Compassionate in sensitive situations, with a genuine desire to brighten someone’s day
• Physical fitness – the role involves frequent and heavy lifting
• Flexibility and reliability

No experience needed – just a positive attitude, a willingness to help, and a smile that goes the extra mile!

Hours available – We’re currently seeking a Saturday Driver’s Mate to join our team from 8am to 4pm, which aligns with our scheduled van departure times.
