North Devon Hospice is delighted to announce that registration is now open for Nightwalk 2026, with an early bird offer available until 31st January. The much-anticipated annual event takes place on Saturday 16th May 2026, with the hope that 1,000 walkers will set off from Bideford Rugby Club to walk the stunning Tarka Trail, choosing between 3-mile or 10-mile routes to remember someone special.
This year's memory walk will feature special stations along the route, offering meaningful opportunities for participants to make their mark and honour loved ones. Upon registration, walkers will be invited to share a song that reminds them of the person they're walking in memory of, which will be added to the soundtrack of Nightwalk on the evening. The much-loved memory bridge will also be making its return, alongside many more touching tributes throughout the evening.
Georgia Bedgood, Events Manager at North Devon Hospice, said: "It's such a moving evening. Everyone has a fantastic time walking along the beautiful route of the North Devon Tarka Trail. Starting at Bideford Rugby Club and walking as the sun sets with stunning views is just very special. It's also a way you can support us to continue to provide vital end of life care and support, to those who need it most in our local community. So, get your friends and family together and make the most of our early bird sign-up offer of just £25."
The walk is open to everyone aged 11 and over, with all participants under 18 required to be accompanied by an adult. Each walker can choose their own fundraising target, ensuring that every step taken helps provide vital end of life care and support across North Devon.
Whether you're drawn to the full 10-mile challenge or prefer the gentler 3-mile option, the beautiful Tarka Trail creates the perfect setting for reflection, remembrance and togetherness. It's a chance for friends, families and colleagues to walk side by side, sharing memories and honouring those who have left an indelible mark on their lives.
Hannah Crawley, Team Lead of North Devon Hospice’s Bedded Unit, added: "Every single pound raised through Nightwalk makes a real difference to the care we can provide. We know our amazing supporters often go above and beyond their fundraising target because they understand how much it means to local families. These funds help us continue being there for our community, delivering expert, compassionate care exactly when it's needed."
The early bird registration window closes on 31st January, so now is the perfect time to sign up, secure the discounted rate, and be part of something truly special this May. To register for Nightwalk 2026, in aid of North Devon Hospice, visit nightwalk.co.uk
