Busy behind the scenes is our dedicated IT department.  This small team supports every aspect of the hospice providing technical support to staff and volunteers to ensure we are all able to undertake our roles, using up to date technology.  They ensure our data is held securely and ensure we are compliant with current regulations whilst maintaining all the technical equipment we rely upon daily to deliver outstanding care within our community. 

No matter what role is undertaken at the hospice we rely on secure, up to date technology to assist us.  Whether that’s enabling our clinical staff to stay in touch when out in the community, sharing information correctly & securely, processing monetary donations, printing, using electronic tills or a whole host of other technology that we use every single day.  All of this technology needs to be maintained.  It also needs to be secure and up dated with the latest safety measures to protect our data and users.  The team are also always looking at ways new technology can support the work we do to improve our efficiency and the service we provide across North Devon.

Like every department within the hospice, our IT team relies on support from volunteers.  Our Helpdesk volunteer is the first point of contact, taking and recording calls for all IT issues and providing help and support where appropriate.  Our Technical Support volunteers assist with software solutions, data analysis and assisting the team to deliver the help and support required across the whole organisation.
