Nestled within the picturesque Deer Park Hospice Garden, A Way To Remember is our oak and glass memorial walkway. The beautiful structure is inscribed with words of comfort and inspiration, while pillars at each corner bear the names of the loved ones we wish to remember. Each name is lovingly etched onto glass panelled pillars by Dartington Crystal, creating a lasting tribute to those we miss.
The walkway, along with the surrounding gardens, offers a peaceful space to step away from daily life — a place to remember, reflect, and simply breathe. It is open to anyone in our community who wishes to honour a loved one, regardless of whether they have been supported by North Devon Hospice.
In return for a suggested minimum donation of £100, the name of the person you love can be etched into the glass forever. Your donation will help North Devon Hospice support local people who are facing the impact of life-limiting illnesses. A £100 donation could enable a patient to receive a night of tailor-made care from our doctors and nurses on the bedded unit. Your contribution not only commemorates your loved one but also brings comfort and care to others who need our hospice.
A Much-Loved page is an online space for families and friends to come together to remember a loved one. You may share photographs, memories, treasured words - or even light a virtual candle. These contributions shape the page into a personal tribute, becoming a place to find comfort in grief and joy in the shared stories of their life. It is a lasting tribute, a place you can return to time and time again, reflecting on the love and fondness held for them.
The page can also collect donations in memory of your loved one, helping continue their legacy by supporting those in our North Devon community who are facing life-limiting illnesses.
Our memorial wall is a beautiful online space where you can leave a dedication to your loved one. The wall features the name of the person you’d like to remember, along with a treasured photograph and personal message if you wish. Adding a dedication to the wall is free, and it’s open to everyone whether they have been supported by the hospice or not. Leaving a dedication takes just a few simple steps and creates a lasting memory.
Donations in lieu of flowers are a meaningful way to remember your loved one while supporting North Devon Hospice. Funeral directors will often collect donations on behalf of the hospice, but if you prefer to manage this yourself, we’re here to help. You can collect donations in cash or by cheque (made payable to North Devon Hospice), or you may wish to set up a tribute page through Much-Loved.
