Mission: Unbreakable is a commando course filled with tough challenges and obstacles. Scale heights, take a leap of faith, and tackle mud, fire, water and ice to call yourself an 'Unbreakable.'
Think this is your typical 'mud run' obstacle course? Think again! We've got the experts, the best in the business. Our 10km course is designed with 24 Commando Royal Engineer Regiment based at RMB Chivenor and the local landowners, who will also be there to encourage you on the day.
Break a sweat, make a difference. By taking part, you'll be giving a lifeline of care to people facing the toughest time of their lives. Your efforts will help someone to be wrapped up in hospice care, when facing a life-limiting illness like cancer.
Raise £80 or more before event day and earn an official 'Unbreakables' headband!
Every recruit who reaches this fundraising milestone will receive their official headband when they register on event day. Not only will you be ready to take on the mission in style, but you can also feel proud knowing that every pound raised helps local families get vital care from North Devon Hospice.

Everything you need to know about Mission:Unbreakable 2025
Allocated arrival wave times will be emailed out 2 weeks before the event and team captains will also be notified. All wave times for teams and individuals can be found HERE
Anyone 16 years of age or above can take part in Mission:Unbreakable this year. With the distance and terrain, we would advise you have a reasonable level of fitness but the commandos are on hand to support everyone round the course.
By registering for Mission:Unbreakable, we ask that each participant try their best to raise a minimum of £80. Whether you fundraise individually or as a team, every pound ensures North Devon Hospice's vital care can be there for everyone who needs us, for as long as they need us.

When you register, you will be automatically set up with an online fundraising page - the quickest and safest way to collect sponsorship towards your challenge. Make sure to share this link far and wide and tell people about your mission and what it means to you.
When registering, you will have selected an arrival time. This is the time you will be able to sign in at North Molton Sports Centre. Following sign in, you'll be invited to join the 24 Commando's for a brisk warm up before you head into the starting pen.
Once you've completed the course, you'll be able to take advantage of the facilities and entertainment provided in our Event Village.
In the Sports Centre itself and within Event Village, we have hot showers and changing facilities available. We also have bag drop available at registration.
If you’re taking part in the challenge, there are water stations located across the course and you’ll also be welcomed at the finish line with complimentary hot stew, freshly prepared by the 24 Commandos.
For spectators and participants alike, there will also be a tea, coffee, and cake stand, along with a hot food catering van offering a variety of refreshments available to purchase throughout the day located in our event village at the start/ finish line.
The course is approximately 10km of rough terrain. It takes anything from 2-4hours to complete but totally depends on your level of fitness and your experience. There is no rush, have fun and please go at your own pace!
As you approach North Molton Village and Sports Centre, you will see signage and marshalls signposting you to the car parking fields. The car park is a 1 minute walk away from our event village and registration point.
Please do not attempt to park in the village or at the Sports Centre itself. Where possible, we recommend car sharing as parking is limited.
If you have pre-ordered Mission:Unbreakable merchandise, these will be available to collect at registration. We will also have additional stock available to purchase in event village at our merchandise stand.
Yes you can register on the day however we can't guarantee what time you'll be able to start. We will of course set you off as soon as possible.
Mission:Unbreakable takes place across farmland and rough terrain. All participants take part at their own risk, however we will do everything we can to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable experience whilst participating.
We have marshalls stationed at designated locations along the whole course, who will be clearly visible in high-vis vests. Our marshalls are volunteers, who give their time freely and are their for your safety so please be respectful and follow any instructions they may give.
All marshalls will have direct contact to our First Aid provider and Event HQ so can get additional help in the event of an emergency. First Aid will be supplied by Apex Medical & Rescue who will have trained medical professionals available both by road, on quad bikes and on foot.
In addition to this, we will also have Commando's stationed along the course who will support participants to reach the finish line safely. They will do their best to make sure no one deviates off the course however if you do decide to leave the course, and do not let one of our marshalls know, then you will be deemed deregistered and no longer covered by our event.
We would strongly advise against bringing any electronics (i.e. mobile phones, smart watches, go-pros) onto the course with you as you will be wading through water, crawling in mud and tackling steep inclines. Any damage or loss of items is at your own risk.
Yes, spectators are welcome to join us at the Sports Centre in our Event Village. There will be a selection of stalls to keep people entertained as well as hot and cold refreshments served throughout the day via our catering vans.
Unfortunately, spectators will not be able to watch you out on the course. The route goes through private farmland and is not easily accessible for non-participants.
We kindly request that four-legged furry friends stay at home and are not brought into the event village.
Get the blood pumping and prepare your body for the immense task that lies ahead. The warm up will be led by Commandos from RMB Chivenor, who will put you through your paces!
A leg-draining minefield of tyres for you to hop through
This is a wade through waist-deep water. It'll be cold, it'll be slippery and you will be running up stream!
Crawling through a low tunnel, against the tide of a river coming in the other direction!
The autumn rain (plus a farmer's tractor!) will have made this stretch of bog especially thick and muddy. Your job is to crawl through it, underneath the barbed wire of course!
Drop to the floor soldier! Time to stay low and out of sight
When your hands are cold and your arms are sore, you'll be asked to engage your upper body strength and shimmy across our monkey bars. Watch out for the muddy landing below!
The commandos will make you flip these huge tractor tyres at least three times before passing
Just in case you get too cold, we thought you might like to run through some fire to warm up! Aren't we nice?!
A 40m plunge down a steep field will wake you up if you're feeling lethargic!
A trek through the knee-deep marsh land. A true energy-sapper when you least need it. Whatever you do, don't lose your shoe!
Face your fear and pass through our underwater tunnel. Take a deep breath and trust the Commandos to pull you through the other side.
A true test of mettle. Scramble to the top of a steep 100-metre slope where a Commando will be waiting to give you one stripe of face paint. Repeat three times to earn your full three stripes and continue the course.
A true leap of faith. Like your parachuting military guides for the day, you'll need to jump from our platform, aiming for the safety of the crash mat below. Listen as they teach you to drop and roll to absorb the impact
With every rung of this wall of netting, you will feel like you are taking one step forward and one step back. Don't lose your footing and remember to keep using your leg muscles
Ringing a bell is easy. It just so happens that our bell is located at the top of a rope that you will have to climb...
They say that an ice bath helps muscle recovery. So the final challenge will be to wade through chest-high water and ice. It's for your own benefit, believe us!
